Where do I start?

The goal of Encouragement.me is to do exactly what the name says…encourage you.

You were designed by God to overcome and live life with an attitude that refuses to quit.

So with every post I write, my sincere desire is to encourage, uplift, motivate, and spur you on. Sometimes encouragement feels easy and awesome…other times, encouragement takes the form of pressing you to not give up.

Either way, the posts on this site are meant to equip you with the power of God’s Word in order to stand up to the challenges of life.

Most of my articles are from 1,000 to 2,500 words long, to give you as much in depth encouragement as possible.

This blog is all about you…and encouraging you to live the great life that God has for you!

red weekly email

Every week I send out an encouraging email covering scripture and topics that will be relevant to your life…and hopefully fill your day with a little extra encouragement!

I hope that you will share the emails(and the blog posts) with your friends and family.

When you join, you’ll start the 5 Day Faith Building Challenge.

As the name implies, I will start our friendship by sending you an email a day for the first five days.

Each email in the challenge will help you discover something about your faith and increase it. In the end, you can encourage your faith to grow bigger than you ever thought.

Okay…So who made this site?

My name is Larry Shankle, and I’ve been a pastor for over two decades.

Through that time, I’ve had the opportunity to speak with hundreds of people, many of whom were discouraged and ready to quit.

My main mission in life, besides being a husband and father, is to raise, build, and encourage people.

So I strive to preach and post articles that will help people keep on going in life, find Christ, and live life encouraged.

You can find me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. It would be great to connect with you there!

My wife Amanda and I live in the Arkansas river valley with our two amazing boys Braxton and Dawson.

Amanda and I were high school sweethearts that have now been married for over 20 years. Our family is one of the most important things to us.

When we aren’t busy serving our church, doing homeschool, or writing books, we are spending our time camping, hiking, drinking coffee and loving the family God has blessed us with.

Several years ago, God gave my wife and I the opportunity to adopt our boys.

Every single day we are so very thankful for them. We tell them often that we are so thankful Jesus gave them to us.

Through the adoption process, God showed us his love, mercy, and grace. We learned even more deeply that the Lord has a plan for every individual person.

When I was nineteen years old I felt a calling to pursue ministry.

I’ve spent two decades now in active local church ministry serving in multiple leadership roles; the last eight and a half of which, have been as Lead Pastor of GrandviewChurch in Natural Dam, AR.

Our church is a rural church that serves our community with the love of Jesus. We have a desire to reach our full kingdom potential and fulfill the plans God has for us.

I believe you have a powerful purpose that can and should be expressed.

When you do, you will find fulfillment, joy, and a sense of peace.

In fact, that is the reason behind this blog and the books I’ve authored. I want to help people build a strong faith and family.

My deep, personal faith is what changed my life.

It gave me a sense of purpose and calling that, over the years, has increased my influence. God has allowed me the opportunity to tell other people about his love for them and the great plan he has for each and every person.

I never intend to stop doing this.

seasons

Have you ever thought about the reason why things seem to fall together easily at times; but in other moments nothing will work out for you no matter how hard you try? One of the reasons for this is that life is made up of seasons. Not the sort of seasons you may think of at first either. We aren’t talking about being born, growing up, living, and dying. In this book we are going to discover other seasons of life that actually affect your day to day outcomes and results.

Inside this book you will discover:

– The secret to why you desire certain things

– How to go about getting what you want most

– Why there are moments where life seems to stand still

– The reason that some people seem to have the golden touch

– How to fight against Satan’s schemes

– The reason you do things you never thought you would do

Whether you are young, old, or somewhere in between, seasons of life are always a reality. This book will help you to understand and leverage your current season of life. Its chief goal is to prepare you to receive a better future.
