God’s Gift Unlocks His Blessings

When you think about Christmas, almost as if on autopilot, at some point you think about gifts.

Why? Because gifts are integrated into the thinking of Christmas.
It’s just part of the season to understand that gift-giving is involved.

If you are a believer in Jesus, you know that God gave you the greatest gift you could ever have received, when he gave Jesus to come into the world and die for your sin.

There is no greater gift.

But with that being said...
What if there were a gift that God was trying to give to you? Right now...

What if something was coming your way from the Lord? Right now...

What if God had something he wanted to do in your life, over and above the norm?

Would you be ready for it?

That’s a big question.
The fact is simple: God didn’t stop at giving Jesus.

There is always something God is trying to bring into your life, and furthermore, there is always something he has ALREADY placed in your life that you may have not yet recognized.

God has a gift for you, and you already possess a gift from God.

Salvation is the most important thing in life, don’t misunderstand; but within the framework of salvation, God opens the possibility of doing tremendous things in your life and bringing tremendous opportunity into your life.

Most of the time, however, we fail to recognize what God has already put in us.

The point is this:
The gift of God that is already in you is the gift that unlocks the door to God’s blessings in your life.

If you don’t see the gift, and therefore, squander it, there is a good chance that you will miss out on other things from God also.

Listen to what the book of Proverbs says about this.
Proverbs 18:16 NKJV
[16] A man's gift makes room for him, And brings him before great men.

This short passage of scripture can be viewed in either a positive or a negative way.

On the negative side, it speaks of bribery.

Commentary says this:
"There is a common expression that says, money talks. What this means is simply that, for a price, people can buy, gain, or control almost anything they desire…even people."

The commentary goes on further to say:
"Solomon is not advocating the giving of a gift to get one’s way or to obtain favor from another person. He is simply stating that gifts are an effective tool in our greedy and materialistic world. Giving gifts to influence people opens doors that otherwise would remain closed. It provides access to people who are powerful and usually inaccessible. Without question, bribery is the cause of much corruption and injustice in the world. Therefore, the righteous will
neither offer bribes nor accept them."

Now, this is one way to view this scripture, but there is also a positive way.

How? Simply put, God places a gift inside of every single believer that is waiting to get out.
The gift of God that is already in you is the gift that unlocks the door to God’s blessings in your life.

Your gift, the one you probably don’t even yet recognize is the key that unlocks the door to your greatest opportunity.

You may not believe that there is anything of value or anything good locked up inside of you, but you are wrong.

God has a plan for your life that will require YOU to open up your heart to the possibility that greater works, greater things, greater anointing, great power, and greater use from God is in store for your life.

In other words, you have to believe that God has placed a heavenly deposit deep down in your heart, and the use if it will unlock opportunity and possibilities in your life.

This verse encourages us to GIVE to God.
Give him back, through USE, the gift he has invested and given YOU.

The gift of God that is already in you is the gift that unlocks the door to God’s blessings in your life.

So, while this verse could mean the gift a man gives to try to make room for himself. (Which is negative.)

It also means that every man has a gift from the Lord who is the gift giver and the proper use, growth, and function of his gift OF A gift will open doors that you cannot open for yourself. (This is the positive view that requires faith to understand and possess.)

THERE IS SOMETHING IN YOU THAT GOD IS TRYING TO DRAW OUT.

Maybe the reason that you are uncomfortable, is the fact that God is trying to push you beyond your comfort level and bring something out of you that you never thought was in you.

Maybe there is a work of his Spirit that will propel you further faster, and he is doing all he can to draw that work out of you.

Could it be that, just as Queen Esther was, so are you? Maybe YOU are prepared FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS?

Your life as a believer has greater meaning than you realize, so the message is: don’t give up on what can happen next.

There is always a "NEXT" in your life.
God placed it there.
God is drawing it out of you.
God wants to see his gift, that he placed in your life, come to full operation.

The gift of God that is already in you is the gift that unlocks the door to God’s blessings in your life.

The devil tries to discourage you, but here’s what to do...you continue to seek out the gifts of God for your life.

Satan constantly tries to tell us that what is happening in and around our life either has NO MEANING, or that WE CANNOT CHANGE IT.

Neither one of these ideas is true.
What is happening around you has great meaning.
Why? Because there are no accidents.
God knows what is going on in your life. He sees the future, he creates the future.

Does this mean that the bad things in life come from God? No.
There is such a thing as a punishment from God, make no mistake, but I believe that most often, when bad things come into our life, it is simply because we MISSED the direction that God was doing his best to point out.

We walked the wrong way. We chose the wrong thing. We forced open the wrong door, and in so doing, we brought about negative consequences.

YOU CAN CHANGE THE ATMOSPHERE SURROUNDING YOUR LIFE.

The devil doesn’t want you to know this or to believe it, but it is true nonetheless.

Faith changes the atmosphere around us.

Faith, put to work through the gift of God in our life, really changes the situations we face.

The gift of God, operating by faith in your life will open EVERY door the Lord has for you.
The gift of God that is already in you is the gift that unlocks the door to God’s blessings in your life.

Maybe you are asking, "what is the gift of God in MY life?"

No one can answer that FOR YOU.
The gift of God for your life has to be sought out.

Now, I am not necessarily speaking of Gifts of the Holy Spirit, but let’s talk about that anyway.

For one thing, every true believer in Jesus does have a gift from the Holy Spirit that he desires to operate in his or her life.

Many times, you can have MORE THAN ONE gift from the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 12:4-7 NKJV
[4] There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. [5] There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. [6] And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. [7] But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:

So, YES, there is a SPIRITUAL GIFT that the Holy Spirit has placed inside of you.

Often, we miss out on this gift because we simply don’t operate IN IT by faith.

But even beyond this, as powerful as it is, God has gifting, talents, abilities, and opportunities that he wants to bring about in your life.

Scripture says: "A man’s GIFT..."

WHEN GOD OPERATES HIS GIFT THROUGH YOUR LIFE, IT MAKES ROOM FOR YOU.

It builds space and opportunity into your life that would otherwise be lost.

How many stories have you heard about people who finally began to stretch out in faith, and God did the miraculous?

The Bible, for one, is full of stories like that.

But the day of miracles has not past, the power of God has not ceased, the ability of God to work in and through your life is still just as real today as it ever was.

Here’s what I say about it...
You don’t have to open your own doors.

Be faithful to God and he will open your doors.

Keep praying those prayers you have been praying.

I love this illustration of prayer...

I heard a pastor speaking about this subject of prayer and he said, and I agree, that, "continuing to pray the same prayer, even when you don’t see anything changing, adds WEIGHT to your accumulated prayer."

It’s as if prayers can "stack up" on one another gaining weight as they go, and eventually the heavier the prayer becomes the greater possibility it has of breaking through the wall.

So be faithful to pray because God is counting on your prayers. If you are faithful, you know that he is faithful and will certainly open your doors.

You don’t EVER have to kick a door open when the Lord is deeply involved in your life.

You just have to be patient and faithful.

Opportunity comes from the Lord.

When the Bible talks about YOUR GIFT making ROOM for you, the word "room," literally means: Wide, Spacious, Long, and Broad.

It means to enlarge and broaden.

God desires to broaden the perspective of your life, but YOU are part of the answer, and YOU operating in your gift BY FAITH, stepping by faith, will create opportunities from the Lord.

Promotion comes from the Lord.

Psalm 75:1-7 NKJV
[1] We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks! For Your wondrous works declare that Your name is near. [2] "When I choose the proper time, I will judge uprightly. [3] The earth and all its inhabitants are dissolved; I set up its pillars firmly. Selah [4] "I said to the boastful, 'Do not deal boastfully,' And to the wicked, 'Do not lift up the horn. [5] Do not lift up your horn on high; Do not speak with a stiff neck.'"

In other words, quit trying to make things happen on your own.
Begin to trust in the Lord and watch HIM do the amazing things in your life.

[6] For exaltation (KJV says "promotion.") comes neither from the east Nor from the west nor from the south. [7] But God is the Judge: He puts down one, And exalts another.

Here’s what I hope you will do over the coming days:
1. Pray about your gift.

Ask the Lord what he has placed inside your life that you are not currently using and employing.

2. Believe that God can do more in you.

Scripture says:
Ephesians 3:20 NKJV
[20] Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

Believe that God is bigger in YOU than the devil fighting OUTSIDE of you.
Believe your PRAYERS accomplish MORE than the enemy sends AGAINST YOU.

3. Step out by faith into the things of God.

When God speaks, and he will if you sincerely ask and listen, then step.

Don’t wait.
Step in.

Allow the Lord to move in your life AS YOU STEP IN FAITH.

Remember, there is something great inside of you from the Lord.

The gift of God that is already in you is the gift that unlocks the door to God’s blessings in your life.
